General Manager
Salary:
£35,000 – £36,500 per year + performance incentives
The Role
We’re looking for a hands-on, service-driven General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of The Suffolk Arms, helping grow the business while delivering an outstanding customer experience both in-house and online.
The Suffolk Arms is a vibrant bar and restaurant with an even split between food and drink, creating a lively atmosphere throughout the week. Working closely with the owners, you’ll lead the team, drive performance, and ensure every guest receives exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the front-of-house operation and oversee daily service.
- Inspire, train and develop the team.
- Create and manage staff rotas.
- Maintain exceptional customer service standards.
- Manage stock control and ordering.
- Monitor sales, gross profit (GP) and business performance.
- Support and deliver successful events and busy trading periods.
- Work closely with the owners to continue growing the business.
We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a General Manager or senior hospitality manager.
- Strong knowledge of both food and beverage operations.
- A confident, hands-on leader who leads by example.
- Commercial awareness with a focus on driving sales and profitability.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure while maintaining high standards.
- A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
